Herpes Pregnancy

 Educate yourself!

If you are pregnant and have genital herpes, be sure that your doctor or OB/GYN knows about your condition. You *can* infect your baby with herpes. Obviously, this isn't something you should be shy about with your doctor. Many women who have genital herpes give birth vaginally without complications. However, it is potentially a dangerous situation.

Most medical experts believe the risk of transmitting herpes to a newborn is low, but the consequences of a transmission can be huge. If your chosen medical professional does not seem to know what is involved with a herpes pregnancy, please seek a second opinion.
